Westminster, Colorado – The American Fly Fishing Trade Association (AFFTA) announced on Thursday that retailer Tucker Ladd, owner of Trout’s Fly Fishing in Denver, Colorado, has been appointed to fill a vacancy on the AFFTA board effectively immediately. Ladd previously served on the AFFTA Advisory Team and has been active in the organization since first purchasing his fly shop in Denver.

“It is a great honor to join the AFFTA board,” said Ladd. “I have always been a firm believer in the mission and work that AFFTA engages in, and I look forward to contributing on all levels. Our industry is currently experiencing enormous change, and I believe the fact that the board has chosen a retailer to fill this vacant seat is a testament to AFFTA’s recognition of how important specialty fly shops are to the future of our sport. I look forward to acting as a voice for the retailer, and hope to help facilitate the kind of change that will assist in the strengthening of this organization as the premier business resource for the fly fishing industry.”

“Tucker is one of the most dynamic, successful, energetic and forward-thinking retailers in the industry today,” said AFFTA Chairman Jim Klug. “The skill-set that he brings with him to the board will be a great addition.”

AFFTA’s mission is to promote the sustained growth of fly-fishing industry.
We work to grow consumer demand for fly-fishing goods and services, enhance the growth and professionalism of fly-fishing businesses, and support the protection, enhancement and restoration of fish and fish habitat.
