Angling Trade is looking forward with great interest to the upcoming ICAST and International Fly Tackle Dealer (IFTD) trade shows, which will be co-located in Las Vegas this July 9-12. This is the world’s largest sportfishing trade show, and the early indications we have seen point to strong attendance by exhibitors, retailers, and media. We’ve already gotten glimpses at some very solid new products for 2014.
The Outdoor Retailer Summer Market show in Salt Lake City at the end of July and early August also promises to be larger than ever, and there will be a significantly expanded focus on fly fishing there as well.
Angling Trade is boosting its coverage plans to accommodate all the news that breaks at IFTD, ICAST and Summer OR. We will get that information to everyone who makes or sells products in the North American fly fishing industry, both in print, and online, whether they attend the shows or not.
Here are some highlights:
Because the shows are earlier than the fly dealer shows have been in recent years (now July, compared to late August or September), Angling Trade’s “Show” issue is on press today. You will receive a print issue before ICAST/IFTD starts July 9.
The major issue of the year—the 2014 New Products Guide—will print in September, and it will highlight all the best new products, as well as the key issues and other topics that result from ICAST, IFTD, and OR.
Angling Trade will also produce three special edition electronic newsletters to be E-blasted to our readers directly from ICAST and IFTD, as well as a summary E-Report that follows OR, in addition to our regularly scheduled monthly E-newsletters (the June edition of which you are reading now).
In short, if you are interested in learning more about new product, just stay tuned. We’ll give you the unfiltered details in the next several weeks, as well as candid commentary on exactly what’s happening in the industry.
