Hurricane Aftermath: It’s Bad. Really Bad.

0

We’re just starting to get a handle on how widespread the devastation is in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma.  THANK YOU to those who have already pledged to get involved and donate.  We will be working on something, hopefully in close coordination with many of the other entities that have expressed a desire to help out for both Hurricane Irma and Harvey.

In the meantime, BTT has stepped up to the plate and is sharing this appeal for donations:

Guides Trust Foundation Accepting Donations for Hurricane Relief

Hurricane Irma was the largest storm ever recorded in the Atlantic. From its landfall in Key West until its flood-soaked exit from Jacksonville, Irma engulfed the entire state with torrential rains, powerful winds and devastating storm surges, impacting millions.

No region was hit harder than the Florida Keys. This special community of fishing guides and anglers faces a long road to recovery. Damages to business and personal property, loss of income from cancelled days on the water, and reduced travel and tourism to the Keys make this time especially challenging. But we can help.

Bonefish & Tarpon Trust is pleased to join with the Guides Trust Foundation in supporting a special guides relief fund. Dollars raised will be provided to guides and their families during this difficult time by the Guides Trust Foundation based on recommendations made by the Florida Keys Fishing Guides Association and the Lower Keys Guides Association.

Your support is needed, too. Please send your most generous contribution to: Guides Trust Foundation c/o Rand Holstead, 1800 Augusta Drive, Fourth Floor, Houston, TX 77057. Or click here to donate online. Please reference “Hurricane Irma” in the notes section for online gifts.

Sincerely, Jim McDuffie

President, Bonefish & Tarpon Trust
