Wanted: “Fly Shop Special Ops”

1

Trouts Fly Fishing in Denver is looking for a special type of experienced angler to join its shop team. Specifically, they need someone who is more than passionate about fly fishing; they want legitimate been there-done that and insight. You have logged the miles. You know a lot about fishing Colorado and the West. You’re really, really dialed on Colorado. Not like, “I moved here last year and am really loving it,” rather, you already know Centennial State fisheries inside-out. You know how long it takes to float from Rancho to State Bridge at 1,200 cfs. You recite the hatch cycle on the Taylor in your sleep. You know how many fish live in each green bucket at Deckers. And you have firsthand experience on every gold medal mile on the Ark. You’ve worn out several pairs of wading boots (at least). You can catch carp with flies. You also know more than a thing or two about fishing the flats… maybe even bluewater. You’re a gear junkie who believes rods and reels have personalities. You understand different companies and their brand cultures. Most importantly, you can connect with people, help them become better anglers, and fit them with products that suit their needs perfectly. If you’re one of those people, you can make some serious serious bank via a combination of hourly and sales commissions, and join the Trouts staff on a senior level.

  1. Anyone with that type of stream cred cannot and will not spend 40 hours a week behind a stream of fluorescent lighting in a shop setting. They’re not wired for such abuse. Sitting through a 25 minute hailstorm under a ponderosa, sure!
