Video: RareWaters Makes Its Case.

Some are critical of any “private” water enterprise. But the fact is that RareWaters has made available miles of good trout water to the do-it-yourself angler that simply were not available, even a few years ago.  It’s gonna cost you… but not as much as a fishing club, or a guide trip on private water. And the options are growing.  So watch the video before you decide if this is putting up fences, or unlocking doors.

  1. No matter how Rare Waters or AT tries to spin it – we’re adopting the UK/European model of pay-to-play fishing – and public water anglers are fed up with entities like Rare Waters/AT selling and shoving this ‘feel good’ nonsense down our throats as seen in AT’s recent/subsequent poll. The precedence of this model being portrayed as being ‘okay’ only makes the public water access issue/challenge greater down the road.

Hi Kirk, AT is simply asking a question. We’re not selling anything or trying to shove anything down your throat. Rare waters is not an advertiser and has never given us money.

  2. I think a better model would be for an apportionment of public money be made available to pay landowners to allow access for programs for disadvantaged kids, or for old men with cancer who want one last chance to fish dry flies. The Pittman-Robertson and Dingell-Johnson certainly have enough of their funding mismanaged to justify this. Barring that as a stand-alone policy, maybe Rarewaters could take point on carving out budget here.
