North Point Brands (NPB), parent company to Cheeky Fishing and Wingo Outdoors, is in an unprecedented stage of growth. The Massachusetts headquartered company has closed a seven figure capital raise this month and is looking to add to its team with three full-time, salaried positions and expanded independent sales representation.
Cheeky Fishing has always looked to challenge over-priced incumbents with performance fly fishing reels, tools, lines and accessories at wallet friendly prices. Wingo Outdoors, known for its outdoor and dog accessories, is building a head of steam in the outdoor space with its creative approach to art and patterns.
“In the last two years, our business has quadrupled,” says NPB’s CEO Ted Upton. “We have grown our team with leaders from around our industry, and now with new capital in the business, we are poised to continue this growth. We believe the key is hiring great people and giving them the opportunity to grow with us. We will double down on our commitment to customer and dealer service, innovative products, and educational content for the end user.”
Specific positions currently open at NPB include a Director of Product, a Graphics & Content Associate Manager and a Customer Service Associate. NPB is also looking for more independent sales representation. The company recently filled two positions just last month, Dealer Support & Sales Associate Manager and Marketing Manager.
“As opportunities expand in the fishing and greater outdoor space, we are ramping up our sales and service team to provide the best dealer experience possible,” explains Scott Doty, NPB’s Director of Sales. “We are looking for individuals or agencies who are eager to grow with us.”
Cheeky Fishing has expanded into fly lines, backing, leader and tippet and remains focused on having reels for every stage of the angler’s journey; from the value-based PreLoad with fly line, backing and a tapered leader already rigged, to the Launch series, selected by Outside Magazine for its 2021 Gear of the Year, and the high-performance Limitless series with its fully sealed drag system.
“We’re building something special here,” says NPB’s CMO Peter Vandergrift. “We are the Robin Hood of brands and we’re looking to set a new standard for what outdoor brands can be.”
