IFTD is back on again… set for the end of March

The American Fly Fishing Trade Association has announced plans to hold the International Fly Tackle Dealer trade show… again… this time March 30-April 1, still in Salt Lake City.  But the big draw may be a Dealer Summit that precedes the trade show by one day on March 29.  This from AFFTA:

There will be new and exciting components to this show, your show! This is our industry’s gathering, our community’s opportunity to help each other’s businesses. As part of that business component we are having a Dealer Summit on Tuesday March 29th, so make sure you come a day early, retailers!

The biggest change, of course, will be the timing.  Angling Trade has long heard that fall was “too late” for a trade show… so will shuffling the deck and landing in spring make a dramatic difference? Are dealers and manufacturers ready for another exhibit hall? Does this conflict with other consumer-facing shows in a bad way, or will it potentially work as a complement?

Time will tell, but we can get a baseline indication of where this is all headed by asking one simple question…
