Double Haul for Dorian Relief
Anglers for the Bahamas

The devastation of the past week in the Bahamas is absolutely tragic and will have a profound impact on the islands of Abaco and Grand Bahama for years to come. An impact that will be felt by the fly fishing industry for years to come as well. These fisheries, and the communities that rely on them, are so familiar to most of us that we almost consider them home waters. And that’s why it’s imperative that we step up as an industry and help our Bahamian fly fishing brothers and sisters in this immense time of need.

The American Fly Fishing Trade Association (AFFTA), Yellow Dog Community & Conservation Foundation (YDCCF) and Angling Trade Media have formed a single coalition to collect funds that will go directly toward relief efforts for those in our fly fishing family who have lost everything to Hurricane Dorian.

As a member of the fly fishing industry, we need you to join the coalition in support of the guides, lodge employees and their families on Abaco and Grand Bahama islands. All funds will go to provide basic necessities to help these individuals and families survive for the near future (food, clean water, diapers, clothing and more) and to help them rebuild their lives for the long term. Money raised will not go to the repair or the rebuilding of lodges.

All funds will be collected through the Yellow Dog Community & Conservation Foundation, as they are an established international 501(c)(3) that can handle all types and all sizes of tax-deductible donations. To date, the Coalition has already collected more than $60,000 in donations for this effort.

As part of the Double Haul for Dorian Relief Coalition, you will be supplied with promotional materials to reach out to your customers and contacts for their support.
