  1. An interesting question but, as I voted, I’m not quite sure what you mean. In one sense, I hope that the “bromance” never dies as it’s the manifestation of deep friendships shared in wild places. We all need that in our lives. I know I do. And there’s nothing to say that a “bromance” can’t cross gender barriers (though I suppose that does technically cross the “bro-line”). Perhaps you mean the chest-bumping, wise-cracking, one-upmanship that seems inherent to testosterone-based relationships. That, too, has it’s place and need not be limited to male lifeforms. Yes, it can get out of hand, but then, to my way of thinking, it’s just morphing into ass-holery.

    I guess it comes down to a little restraint, a little situational sensitivity, and a lot of respect. With these in place, long live the “bromance.”
