    new technology fine, but same name.
    F150, Corvette, Suburban… has technical advances, but the badge becomes known.
    If I say Mustang, we all know what the purpose of the car is. It is not to haul plywood. F150 is not a sports car.
    the name becomes iconic.

    when the fly rod company has a home run, stick with it.
    we all knew what the Sage ONE was for. why not just have the 2020 version of the Sage ONE.
    give the customer and the shop employees something to know.

    Patagonia R1 has gone through many changes over the years, but we all know what a R1 is built for.

    I would hope a model change comes only when new technology is developed to make a better casting rod.
