Brady Joins TRCP as Media Relations Director

bradyFrom TRCP:

Kristyn Brady has joined the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership as the group’s media relations director. Brady spent 6 years on the editorial staff of Field & Stream magazine, where she most recently served as assistant editor and Heroes of Conservation columnist.

“Kristyn’s expertise and her connection to the sportsmen community will be a tremendous asset in communicating about important conservation and sportsmen’s access issues,” said TRCP President and CEO Whit Fosburgh. “As we seek to unite sportsmen and educate decision makers, credibly telling the story of sportsmen-led conservation, its connection to access and the outdoor economy, and what it means for the future of our hunting and fishing traditions will be critical to our success.”

During her tenure with Field & Stream, Brady was responsible for finding and spotlighting nearly 100 extraordinary volunteers working to improve fish and wildlife habitat on the grassroots level through the magazine’s Heroes of Conservation program. In 2011, she helped launch Hero for a Day, an online video series created to boost and chronicle local conservation projects across the country. The planning and execution of both efforts required that Brady work closely with sportsmen’s groups, land trusts, state agencies, and the media.

“I’m excited to join the fantastic team at the TRCP,” said Brady. “In this role, I’ll continue to help share inspiring stories of progress being made by sportsmen across the country and in Washington, and I’m eager to use my experience in publishing to bring even more awareness to the conservation efforts of the TRCP and our partners. I’ve tasked myself with thinking creatively about the content needs of today’s media professionals.”

Brady grew up on the South Shore of Massachusetts and received her bachelor’s degree from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania. She worked for an arts nonprofit in Boston before relocating to New York City to join Bonnier Corporation and Field & Stream, where she quickly took up shooting, fishing, and hunting chukars, grouse, turkeys, and deer.
