Watch the Temps

0

A river flows through a green, tree-lined valley with a flock of birds flying above and mountains in the hazy background.

A note of congratulations and thanks to the outfitters and guides who are paying attention to warmer water temperatures and doing the right thing by not fishing.

When water temperatures get above 65 degrees, that stresses trout. If you catch them, your odds of killing them go up exponentially.

So turn a fishing float into a family fun float. Or go chase fish in the lakes. Or let the trout be in favor of fishing for smallmouth bass.

Places like the Upper Colorado are really feeling it already this year, and the guide community, for the most part, is responding responsibly

Thanks for playing the long game.
