North American sportsmen will travel to Missoula, Montana, April 1-3 to unite in the name of public lands conservation at Backcountry Hunters & Anglers’ 5th annual National Rendezvous. “MeatEater” host and book author Steven Rinella will keynote this year’s event.

A rapidly growing convention for backcountry sportsmen, public lands supporters and outdoors enthusiasts, the BHA Rendezvous gets back to its roots in 2016, returning to Missoula, the site of the first BHA gathering and BHA national headquarters, and offers an expanded suite of speakers, skills seminars and social activities designed to appeal to sportsmen across the board.

“After last year’s success, it seemed only natural that we follow up with a rendezvous that is bigger and better,” said BHA President and CEO Land Tawney. “Over the past four years, our annual gathering has attracted passionate backcountry sportsmen from across the country. Attendance has grown by leaps and bounds, and we fully expect another year of unprecedented attendance, energy and good times.”

Since its formation 11 years ago, BHA has emerged as sportsmen’s leading, most outspoken voice in support of public lands hunting and angling, conservation of backcountry lands and waters and expanded sportsmen’s access.

“It’s a dangerous time for public lands – and for those of us who utilize them,” said Rinella. “We’ve got a long line of folks looking to cash in our wilderness heritage out of spite or for quick financial gain. Hunters and fishermen everywhere need to stand up and proclaim their support for America’s public wildlands. I’ll be doing just that at the BHA rendezvous. Please join me. We’ll laugh, we’ll cheer, we’ll eat, we’ll get stuff done.”

In addition to Rinella, who will be podcasting live from the event, featured speakers include public lands sportsman and TV personality Randy Newberg, who will offer tips and techniques for successful elk hunting; lifelong archer Yana Robertson, who will lead an “intro to bowhunting” seminar; and backcountry hunter Bill Hanlon, who once discovered the remains of an ancient hunter while on a Dall sheep hunt in northern British Columbia.

Other highlights of the BHA Rendezvous include cooking demonstrations, raffles, live and silent auctions, and BHA’s annual Backcountry Brewfest, featuring 25-plus local Montana breweries. View the schedule of events.
