The ranch consists of 1,875 acres of private Montana wilderness and 1.5 private access miles of famed Rock Creek running through the ranch. We prefer experienced guides but are happy to train the right individuals. The duties of this position vary from guiding fly fishing trips to general help on the ranch. Our season runs from June 1st- October 31st. We are asking guides to be on-site by May 20th this year to begin training.
All candidates must:
– Have exceptional knowledge of fly fishing techniques, products, and procedures
– Be CPR/First Aide certified, preference given to those who are wilderness first aid trained
– Keep accurate logs of all trips and possess an understanding of permitting policies and procedures
– Have willingness to work demanding hours and conditions
– Be able to lift 50+ lbs and stand the majority of working hours
– Possess excellent interpersonal skills
– Have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
– Have a positive attitude and be willing to learn
Duties:
– Guide half-day and full-day walk/wade trips and float trips
– Lead on-site casting clinics (based on availability)
– Lead fly tying demonstrations
– Lead other activities such as guided ATV tours, hikes, archery, and other guest activities as experience allows
– Work in our on-site fly shop
– General maintenance, including but not limited to monitoring/cleaning common areas, boat/trailer/fly rod maintenance and repair, fencing, painting, general construction, landscaping, housekeeping, meal prep, chopping wood, starting fires, mowing, shuttle pick-ups and drop-offs, running errands, etc.
** Fly fishing experience is mandatory for this position. Experience in other duties is preferred but not required.
