Position: Fly Fishing Guide
Location: Complete Fly Fisher Lodge, Big Hole River, Wise River, Montana
Season: May – October
Reports to: Head Guide / Lodge Manager

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Fly Fishing Guide to join our team for the fishing season. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of fly fishing techniques, local fisheries, and excellent customer service skills. You will be responsible for providing guests with an unforgettable fishing experience while ensuring their safety and enjoyment on the water.

Responsibilities:

Guide guests on fly fishing trips in rivers, lakes, or other designated fishing areas.
Provide expert instruction on casting, fly selection, reading water, and fishing techniques.
Assist guests of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced anglers.
Prepare and maintain fishing gear, including rods, reels, flies, and waders.
Navigate boats, rafts, or wade fish safely in various water conditions.
Ensure guest safety and comply with all fishing regulations and lodge policies.
Offer insights into local ecology, fish species, and conservation practices.
Communicate effectively with guests to ensure a top-tier customer experience.
Assist with lodge activities, including guest relations, equipment maintenance, and trip logistics.

Qualifications:

We are looking for a Montana licensed guide with at least 5 years of experience, preferably the waters in Southwest Montana.

Proven experience as a fly fishing guide or extensive fly fishing expertise.
Knowledge of local waters, fish species, and seasonal fishing conditions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong ability to teach and encourage anglers of all experience levels.
Boating and water navigation skills preferred.
First Aid & CPR certification
Valid fishing guide license
Physically fit and able to work long hours in outdoor conditions.

Experience with drift boats and rafts
