“We are seeking expressions of interest in our New Zealand based guiding business. We operate a guided jetboat fishing business in Fiordland National Park on one of New Zealand’s most productive wild trout fisheries, the Upper Waiau River. Unlike many of Atearoa’s trout fisheries, the Upper Waiau has high densities of wild rainbow and brown trout with fish counts regularly ranging between 200-1000 fish / kilometre. We are based out of the township of Te Anau, at the southwest corner of the South Island. At the end of this guiding season we are planning to retire and would like to find the right buyer to take over our owner/operator guiding business for the 2025/26 season.
We are the preferred outfitter for the top luxury lodges in Fiordland, working in tandem with our operational partner to offer the full spectrum of guided fishing and hunting experiences (e.g. walk-wade fishing, heli-fishing, jetboat fishing, float fishing and big game trophy hunting). This business is fully operational with all the permits and approvals in place to operate commercially in New Zealand’s largest national park. We are in the middle of a very busy 2024-25 fishing season and are looking to hear from interested parties before the main season closes on May 31st, with the aim of passing the business on to the right buyers during the winter off season (June-Sept) this year.

- Custom built 6m Mackraft Jetboat (2016 build) with trailer and Toyota Prado 4×4
- All fishing tackle and equipment required to operate (rods, reels, waders, boots, etc)
- Full client/agent list that includes introductions to the main lodges in the Fiordland Region.
