From Hardy:

Hardy® redefines its flagship saltwater line with the release of the highly anticipated Hardy Zane Pro and Zane rods as well as the stunning Zane Carbon reel.

After rigorous testing by tarpon tournament angler Andy Mill and other top-level guides, the Zane Pro and Zane rods, along with the Zane Carbon reel, will continue Hardy’s legacy of creating the sport’s premier saltwater rods and reels. The Zane Pro, winner of the award for best fly rod at ICAST 2020, adding yet another accolade to an already impressive resume for the Zane collection that includes several tarpon world records.

“The Zane line of rods and reel showcase the level of engineering, testing and performance Hardy is synonymous with,” said Jim Murphy, Director of fly fishing for Hardy. “The Zane has set the standard for big-game saltwater anglers. The thought that has gone into the design and construction of these rods and reels make the Zane the obvious choice for discerning, big-game fly fishers. With several tarpon world records to its credit, the Zane line raises the bar for saltwater anglers.”

The Hardy Zane Pro features aerospace-grade carbon fibre and an advanced SINTRIX® 440 resin system that maximizes the performance and durability of the rod. Redesigned mandrels and pattern layups add more lifting power to the stout backbone of the Zane Pro. A hard-anodized, double-up-lock reel seat and all new Ceracoil guide from REC adds further durability and functionality when chasing hard-fighting saltwater species. The Zane Pro will be available in both one-piece and four-piece configurations in rod weights six through 12.

The Hardy Zane is based on the award-winning Proaxis rods. The range includes two 8-foot rod options for backwater and predator fishing, as well as freshwater streamer fishing. The Zane features ceramic-lined titanium stripper guides, oversized snakes and tip-top guides. Anodized bar stock, up-lock reel seats round out this durable-yet-precise rod.

Rounding out the Zane lineup is the Hardy Zane Carbon fly reel. Its 6061 bar stock aluminum construction features gorgeous carbon spokes and uses a fully sealed, multi-disc drag with 10 pounds of pressure. The drag system offers a 340-degree regulated drag control with hard indents for exact control no matter what the situation. A large arbor helps with faster retrieves and also utilizes a captive spool release.

The Zane Pro will be available in both one-piece and four-piece configurations in six through 12 rod weights with an MSRP of $850.

The Zane will be available in four-piece configurations in six through 12 rod weights, featuring an MSRP of $595.

The Zane Carbon will be available in seven through 12 weight configurations with an MSRP starting at $399.
