I do a good bit of traveling around Wisconsin. During trout season, that sometimes involves treks close to fishing opportunities. As a result, it’s not uncommon for me to keep a rod setup, boots, some quick drying wading pants and a shirt or two in the back of my vehicle during the summer. If I have an hour to kill, it might as well be spent wet wading.
The Filson Twin Lakes Sport Shirt was a great addition to this summer’s adventures. The shirt is made of a quick drying poly/nylon/spandex material thick enough to keep mosquitoes out, but which was light enough to breath in warm weather. To further help keep anglers cool, the shirt features a vented back panel, and underarm grommets that allow airflow. The shirt simply feels light, and never made me feel overheated. Best of all, the shirt’s material includes MCS Blocker, which provides a 30+ UPF sun blocker rating. Two buttoned pockets on the front were just right for my usual slim line fly box, gink and tippet gear. In short, it was a great shirt for summer angling diversions.
The shirt looks good, too. I packed it for two western trips this summer, and it was equally at home in brewpubs and fly shops as it was out on the river. It’s a solid looking, well-made shirt that makes a great addition to any angler’s wardrobe. $98; filson.com.
