I think the good Samaritan who tied “Get Well Soon” balloons to road-killed raccoons in Boulder, Colorado, a few months ago may well have metaphorically captured the state of the country better than anyone. But one can hope. Thankfully the great American Dumpster Fire that was the 2016 Presidential election is behind us.
