Goal Zero, the leader in portable solar power, today unveiled the Goal Zero Yeti Lithium portable power station, at the Outdoor Retailer Expo in Salt Lake City. The new lithium-based battery backup systems – the Yeti 400 and Yeti 1400 — have been remastered from the original Goal Zero Yeti Solar Generator to be lighter and longer lasting, while providing powerful capabilities for any occasion.

The new Goal Zero Yeti Lithium line is even more powerful than its predecessors, with increased surge allowances and advanced lithium battery protection, combined with a sleek design that makes for a lightweight, big power solution. From the outdoors to the indoors, the Goal Zero Yetis provide the perfect power solution for all types of projects. While the plug-and-play interface is similar to Goal Zero’s award-winning Yeti Solar Generators, the user-replaceable lithium cells have increased its lifespan and decreased the weight of the generator by up to 60 percent.

“Gas powered generators have been around for a long time and while they were an amazing innovation decades ago, they are outdated, noisy, inefficient and often won’t start when you need them most,” said Bill Harmon, general manager at Goal Zero. “With the Goal Zero Yeti Lithium line, we are entering a new era — a new way to ensure you have power when and where you need it without the noise, fumes or gasoline of a traditional generator.”

Additional features of the Goal Zero Yeti Lithium Portable Power Stations include:

‧ Patent Pending AC Inverter. Industry-leading surge allowances with patent-pending multi-stage protection mean better compatibility with more devices — from electric saws to space heaters.
‧Better Batteries, Better Performance. Certified, high-quality Panasonic lithium cells are not only made better, they out-perform the competition and lead acid runtimes with high-powered devices.
‧Built-in Hideaway Carriages. Easy stowaway compartment for wall chargers and other cables.
‧Advanced LED Display. In addition to power in and power out, an easy-to-read display shows time to empty and full to better estimate runtimes and charge times.

The Goal Zero Yeti 400 Lithium Portable Power Station is optimized for charging lights and electronic gadgets several times over, while the Goal Zero Yeti 1400 Lithium, the largest capacity model yet, can power refrigerators and other large equipment pieces for a fully-charged adventure in the outdoors or a robust emergency preparation plan.

“Drawing from our expertise building power products and enhancing our solar generator product line, the new Yeti Lithium line provides efficient battery protection, compact design and state-of-the-art longevity that people simply can’t find anywhere else. We’re excited for our customers to try it and love it,” said Harmon.

The Goal Zero Yeti Lithium portable power stations will be available to consumers in the first quarter of 2017 for $699.99 and $1,999.99, respectively, at GoalZero.com.
