Outdoor Retailer Summer Market 2015 Selected for U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Buyer Program

Outdoor Retailer, the premier trade event featuring the best of the outdoor recreation market, including industry manufacturers and top retail buyers, was recently selected for participation in the 2015 International Buyer Program (IBP) by the U.S. Department of Commerce. As a result, Outdoor Retailer Summer Market 2015 will benefit from the active recruiting of overseas buyers from Commercial Service and partner posts around the world by IBP personnel.

The IBP is a joint government-industry effort under the jurisdiction of the Commerce Department’s International Trade Administration (ITA). The IBP will maintain an official international trade center at OR Summer Market, where foreign buyers can obtain assistance in identifying potential business partners, and meet with U.S. companies to negotiate and close deals.

U.S. exhibitors can take advantage of interpreter services and face-to-face export counseling from overseas U.S. Commercial Service representatives accompanying the visiting buyer delegations from countries worldwide. Additionally, foreign buyers and U.S. exhibitors may take advantage of online business matchmaking services to connect and schedule meetings prior to the show.

“The IBP saves U.S. businesses valuable time and resources in their pursuit of global opportunities,” said Stefan Selig, Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade. Last year’s IBP helped bring more than 11,500 international buyers to U.S. shows.
