From TRCP:

A $5,000 donation from the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership to the Wyoming Game and Fish Department’s Private Land Public Wildlife Access Program represents more than 20,000 acres of access for hunters and anglers who choose to enjoy Wyoming’s great sporting opportunities.

“This year’s contribution brings the TRCP’s three-year total donation to $25,000, equaling more than 100,000 acres in the Access Program,” said TRCP Western Outreach Director Neil Thagard. “This speaks to the core of the TRCP’s mission and helps provide opportunity to everyone who hunts and fishes in Wyoming.”

The funds were generated through the sale of special big game licenses awarded annually by individual commissioners to nonprofit groups.

Every acre available to sportsmen translates to good news for Wyoming’s economy, explained Thagard.

“The recreational opportunities fish and wildlife provide generate more than $1.1 billion directly to Wyoming’s economy,” he stated, “and they contribute significantly to the annual $2.9 billion tourism industry.”

Groups such as the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Bowhunters of Wyoming, Wyoming Wildlife Federation and others have contributed to the Access Program. The TRCP is proud to number among these great organizations in an effort to provide opportunity to all who participate in hunting and angling in Wyoming.
