To help underwrite the cost of CFR retreats that are offered at no-cost to breast cancer survivors, Abel will produce a signature edition of their Super Series 5N Large Arbor model with $100 per reel donated to the organization.

Casting for Recovery, a 501(c)3 non-profit, was founded in 1996 in Manchester, Vermont, the brainchild of a breast cancer reconstructive surgeon and a fly fishing guide. CFR provides an opportunity for women whose lives have been profoundly affected by the disease to gather in a natural setting and learn the sport of fly-fishing. Just as importantly, the retreats offer an opportunity to meet new friends, network, exchange information, and have fun.
The weekend retreats incorporate counseling, educational services, and the trained facilitators that staff each retreat, including a psycho-social therapist, a health care professional as well as fly-fishing instructors and river helpers.  “We are very excited that Abel has joined our community of supporters, especially with such a beautifully designed reel,” said Lori Simon, CFR’s Executive Director, “their commitment to helping survivors is a testament to the fly fishing community’s tradition of stewardship and care for the health and well-being of our natural environment.”
