Fly Fishing Show Provides Dealer After-Hours

Private after-hours times for Fly Fishing Show exhibitors to meet, greet and sell to dealers will be available at all seven show venues in 2013.  The concept was tested successfully at a few show sites in 2012, turning the national consumer show into a regional trade event – at least for a few evening hours.

According to show producer Chuck Furimsky, “It’s a simple and obvious concept.  For the 2013 Fly Fishing Show season, tackle manufacturers and their reps may now invite select customers to attend the Fly Fishing Show and a private, in booth demo.  Those invited are given free entry to the show for the last hour and stay after hours as necessary to demonstrate new products or services . . . or just to have a party.”

2013 show dates and locations are –

  • Denver, Colo., Jan. 4-6 – Denver Merchandise Mart;
  • Marlborough, Mass., Jan. 18-20 – Royal Plaza Trade Center;
  • Somerset, NJ, Jan. 25-27 – Garden State Exhibit Center;
  • Winston-Salem, NC, Feb. 9-10 – Benton Convention Center;
  • Seattle (Lynwood), Wash., Feb. 16-17 – Lynwood Convention Center;
  • Pleasanton, Calif., Feb. 22-24 – Alameda County Fairgrounds; and
  • Lancaster, Penn., March 2-3 – Lancaster County Convention Center.

Exhibiting manufacturers may host dealers with refreshments plus unlimited access to the show casting ponds and other facilities.  Security will be in force during all evening hours.

Manufacturers are asked to list the names of all invited dealers ahead of time for free admission beginning at 5 p.m.  They will have about an hour to tour the show while it’s still open, followed by the private session hours.

“It makes for a long day, but it’s a golden opportunity to close a deal that may have been wished and missed,” said Furimsky.  With seven nation wide locations, there is no better access to as many dealers.

“With more manufacturers attending our consumer shows than ever before, this free private evening opportunity is a bonus.  Exhibitors get market feedback all day from consumers and then share those results that evening with their dealers,” he concluded.
