WASHINGTON, D.C.—Integrated Digital Publishing –publishers of The Contemporary Sportsman and The Contemporary Wingshooter online fly fishing and wing shootings magazines, announced today that it will donate 1 percent of its proceeds to Trout Unlimited through the established “1% for the Planet” program started by Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, and Craig Mathews, owner of Blue Ribbon Flies in West Yellowstone, Mont.
“This is a donation we’re more than happy to make,” said Jim Stenson, owner and publisher of Integrated Digital Media. “Trout Unlimited embodies the appropriate conservation philosophy for the times, one where compromise and cooperation result in productive work on the ground and the long-term protection of fish and game habitat. That habitat, of course, produces opportunities for hunters and anglers from coast to coast, and, like many business catering to the outdoorsman, our online publications are direct beneficiaries of that work.”
TU works all over the country to protect intact fish and game habitat from irresponsible development, and to restore and reconnect degraded watersheds in order to support coldwater fisheries. Donations to TU through the 1% for the Planet program go directly toward the work TU does on the ground, and benefit angling opportunities all across America.
“We’re very grateful to Integrated Digital Publishing for recognizing the importance of our work, and for realizing that the work we do on the ground can have a direct impact on the company’s customers,” said Chris Hunt, TU’s director of communications. “We firmly believe that our work not only has a direct benefit to anglers and hunters, but also to those businesses who cater to sportsmen and women—the folks who get the most out of intact fish and game habitat. We thank Mr. Stenson and Integrated Digital Publishing for this very meaningful donation. It will go a long way toward helping TU achieve its goals on the ground.”
