AFFTA – Call For Volunteers

From AFFTA:

It is that time of year again and we would love it if you could come support Jim Range National Casting Call and the Family and Youth Casting Call.

What better way to highlight the importance of fisheries conservation than by spending a day fishing on the banks of the Potomac River at Fletcher’s Cove in the heart of Washington, DC.  The American Fly Fishing Trade Association’s Jim Range National Casting Call and Family & Youth Casting Call provide a hands-on opportunity for the fly fishing industry and their partners to educate Congress, the Administration and the public on fisheries and aquatic habitat issues.

The American Fly Fishing Trade Association is hosting the Jim Range National Casting Call on Friday April 15th at Fletcher’s Boathouse in the C&O Canal National Historical Park.  This event is designed to educate our nation’s leaders on the importance of conservation by taking them fishing on the Potomac River.

On Saturday April 16th, the American Fly Fishing Trade Association is hosting a Family & Youth Casting Call at Fletcher’s Boathouse in the C&O Canal National Historical Park.  This action-packed afternoon will give metro-DC residents a chance to fish and to learn more about fish and fishing from some of the country’s leading experts. The Junior Ranger Badge program, fly tying instruction from Family Tyes and hands-on exhibits from participating partners will give families the opportunity to Explore, Learn and Protect one of our most precious natural resources.

We need your help!  From teaching kids to fish to helping with the Junior Ranger educational activities to manning registration tables, we will need many volunteers to make each day go smoothly.
